You said that it was a misconception that the earth is under satans rule, yet in Luke 4:5-6 it says that the devil led Jesus to a high place and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and said I will give you all their authority and splender, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want, and Jesus did not deny that it was given to him, it also says something simular to that in Mathew. Im not sure either way, but maybe the authority was given to him by Adam and Eve when they chose to obey satin rather than God?

I don’t think Jesus’ interactions with the devil in the temptations can establish whether or not satan actually had the authority he was offering. Jesus addressed the root issue of worship rather than whether satan had the abilities he was claiming to have. Because of the root issue whether or not he had that authority did not come into the conversation.

Obviously, satan does hold great sway over wicked kingdoms in this age and that authority was given to him in the fall. The fundamental issue I am trying to drive home is that all of satan’s authority is very clearly under the rule of God. This is why the Scripture is clear that even the establishment of wicked kingdoms occurs under God’s authority. Obviously, this raises other challenging questions, but may have a misconception of God’s present place of rule above all.
